The Ministry of First Nations and Metis Relations is providing funds to help with the costs of an Enviromental Assesment around the Shore Gold Star-Orion South Diamond Mine project.
Six hundred seventy-three thousand dollars are being provided to Saskatchewan’s Métis Nations Eastern Region II and Western Region II, the James Smith Cree Nation and Muskoday First Nation.
The money is from FNMR’s Consultation Participation Fund.
The EA process will provide community members the opportunity to speak about potential impacts the proposed development may have on traditional land use and Aboriginal and treaty rights.
