The woman who police arrested along with accused murderer Braidy Vermette last week, was released on bail on Monday.
Vermette was being held at Prince Albert Correctional Centre, when he escaped from a medical transport more than a week ago.
Police say he was recaptured along while with his girlfriend Tristen Smith after hiding out in a home near Red Wing – which is only about 10 kilometres out of Prince Albert – on April 7.
Smith faces a number of charges, but not all of them originate from that incident They include breach of an undertaking, failure to attend court, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
A publication ban was ordered for Smith’s bail hearing, meaning MBC can’t report the reasons for her release. The conditions of her release are also protected from the public through a publication ban.
Vermette was in court last week for the first time since his escape.
He’s been remanded to the Prince Albert Penitentiary until his mid-May court appearance.
Vermette and another man, Skylar Patrick Bird, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Troy Napope.
Last May, Napope went missing after a party outside Prince Albert. The car he’d been last seen driving was later found torched.
Napope’s body has not yet been located, according to family.
