The Town of La Ronge has a new mayor.
A by-election for the vacant office was held Wednesday and saw Joe Hordyski come out on top.
According to town officials Hordyski received 273 votes while the other candidate Matt Klassen got 138 votes.
Hordyski is no stranger to municipal politics as he has been a member of town council for over 20-years. He previously served as mayor for 12 years.
The mayor’s chair became vacant when Colin Ratushniak resigned in July. While the office was vacant deputy mayor Viviana Ruiz-Arcand assumed the mayor’s duties.
