The former head of the Assembly of First Nations charged with inciting hatred against Jews has a new lawyer.

Today was the deadline for David Ahenakew to find new legal counsel after his first lawyer quit the case.

His new lawyer is Doug Christie, who’s well known for defending some high-profile Holocaust deniers.

Christie and Ahenakew were in court in Saskatoon today, where Ahenakew’s new trial date was set.

It will start on April 4th.
