A man from Buffalo Narrows is due to appear in court today on armed robbery charges.

Kevin Ackegan, 29, was arrested on Friday after the community’s Esso gas station was robbed at knifepoint.

RCMP Sgt. Dave Smith says it was around 7:20 p.m. that a man walked into the station brandishing a knife.

Smith says the man walked to the till area, took an undisclosed amount of cash, and then fled the scene.

No one was hurt in the incident, and police arrested Ackegan soon afterwards.

In addition to the armed robbery charge, he also faces one count of wearing a disguise to commit an offence.
