The economic development director for the Thunderchild First Nation says his band is pushing hard for a First Nations museum to be built in Saskatoon.

Albert Angus says it was Thunderchild that first approached city officials about the idea and made the suggestion they hire architect Douglas Cardinal to design the building.

Angus says his band is willing to purchase the land for the museum and then convert it to a reserve.

However, he admits the process still has a long way to go before it’s a reality.

Angus says a First Nations museum would do a lot of good for Aboriginal people in Saskatoon.

He also believes Cardinal’s work is something everyone should see at least once in their life.
