Battleford Man In Court To Face Murder Charge

A 21 year old Battleford man appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court this morning in connection with the death of a local woman.

Troy Mawson faces a charge of First Degree Murder, stemming from an investigation into the murder of 19 year old Katrina Parkinson of Battleford.

Parkinson suffered from a fatal gun shot wound on the night of Thursday, December 15th, at a private residence a few kilometers Northwest of Battleford.

Mawson has been remanded into custody and will appear in court this Thursday.
