Big River Youth Killed in Collision

The Big River RCMP is investigating a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision that took place late Thursday night near Debden.

At around 11:25 pm, a 16-year-old male youth from the Big River First Nation was walking south on Highway 55 when he was struck by a semi-trailer unit.

The youth was pronounced dead at the scene.

The RCMP is not releasing his name until all next of kin have been notified.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
