Bomek Denied Bail On New Sex Charges

A convicted sex offender from Flin Flon has been denied bail by a judge in Prince Albert.

James Michael Bomek was picked up on charges of drug trafficking a few weeks ago.

However, it was learned last week that the 56-year-old former lawyer is also up on 12 new sex-related charges.

The Crown is proceeding by indictment on at least some of the counts.

A publication ban prevents further details from being released.

Bomek made headlines two years ago when he pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual assault for actions he committed during his time as a lawyer in northeastern Saskatchewan.
