BTC Troubled By Credit Union Management Changes

The Battlefords Tribal Council is concerned about recent changes to top management at Innovation Credit Union.
BTC CEO Randy Wallace says they’ve got lots of questions about why three senior executives resigned.
Wallace says BTC and several major businesses in town have asked for a meeting with the entire board of directors.
But that meeting hasn’t happened, after weeks of pressing, so a petition to get that meeting is now circulating in the Battlefords.
Wallace says BTC is concerned because it has more than 20 institutions and companies that do business with the credit union, including a high school and daycare centre, health centres, casino properties and a hotel.
He says there are rumours that the change was the result of a power struggle, and he feels that issue needs to be addressed.
“We’re just concerned (because) we don’t want to have to start over with a different management group that’s being controlled, in essence, out of Swift Current. That just isn’t going to work,” Wallace says.
Wallace notes that some board members have agreed to meet with the group, but he says that’s not enough — they want a meeting with the whole board.
