Busy Weekend for La Ronge RCMP

La Ronge RCMP had a successful weekend nabbing a number of would-be thieves.

Staff Sergeant Kirk Munro says three youths were caught trying to break into The Dollar Store in Air Ronge Saturday night.

Munro says a couple of officers noticed the incident during a routine drive-by.

And early this morning, a couple of 20-year-old men accused of going on a crime spree were apprehended near the Northern Lights School Division building.

Munro says officers responding to an alarm that had been set off in the building simply followed the suspects’ tracks in the fresh snow.

Munro says prior to their arrest, it’s believed the suspects stole a truck, dumped it, broke into the garage of a local residence and stole a car — which was found near where they were eventually arrested.
