Civic Elections Take Centre Stage

Municipal elections are being held across the province today in cities, towns, villages, hamlets and settlements.
Polls are now open, and will close at 8:00 this evening.
Even though northern Saskatchewan has already seen a number of civic votes take place already this fall, there are still 16 northern communities holding elections today.
Those include La Ronge, Air Ronge, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Buffalo Narrows, Green Lake, Stony Rapids and Sandy Bay.
While the election campaigns for mayor in Prince Albert and Saskatoon have generated a lot of buzz, there are also some interesting mayoral races in northern Saskatchewan.
Five candidates are running for mayor in Buffalo Narrows and in Green Lake, six are running in Ile-a-la-Crosse and eight candidates have put their names forward in Sandy Bay.
