Environmental Group Challenges Wall On Oil Sands

The group that labelled Alberta’s tar sands the “most destructive project on Earth” is calling on Premier Brad Wall to be clear about where he stands on the environmental impacts of oil sands development in this province.
Environmental Defence says acid rain is already damaging lakes and rivers in northern Saskatchewan.
The organization recently released a report that cited Saskatchewan government studies showing a buildup of nitrogen along the northwestern Saskatchewan border with Alberta.
Spokesman Matt Price says because this province is at a much earlier stage of tar sands development than Alberta, there’s still time for the premier to take action.
Wall is talking to Amercian politicians in Washington, DC this week, and has not been immediately available for comment.
