Far North Children Welcome Santa

A lot of kids in the Far North were excited to see Santa Claus fly into town on Sunday.

Santa’s visit had been anticipated in the region ever since Transwest Air announced it was proceeding with its annual “Santa Claus Takes Flight” event.

Transwest Air spokesperson Naomi Boldt says over one thousand kids received gifts from the man in red.

A total of 4 communities in the Far North were visited by Santa — Wollaston Lake, Black Lake, Stony Rapids and Fond du Lac.

Boldt says plans are already in the works for 2004, which will be the 5th year for the annual event.
