Three Dene bands in the Far North have reached an agreement to buy and lease a 34-seat passenger turboprop aircraft.
The deal was signed yesterday in Saskatoon with officials from Transwest Air.
Terms of the purchase haven’t been announced yet.
However, Napoleon Mercredi, a development officer from Fond du Lac, says it’s a deal that should benefit everyone.
The agreement bolsters the fleet of aircraft owned and leased by northern bands.
Currently, Black Lake and Fond du Lac own three additional aircraft with Transwest Air.
