Fisher Hope For Role In Re-Stocking Montreal Lake

The head of the Montreal Lake fishermen’s co-op admits the next few years will be a time of change for local fishers.
Last week, the group decided to halt all commercial fishing on the lake for the next three years.
Noland Henderson says the move should give failing walleye stocks a chance to recover.
He notes the fishers are willing to volunteer their time for fish stock enhancement projects.
Roughly 35 fishers from the band are affected by the moratorium.
Henderson adds whitefish is another species that seems to be in decline in the lake.
