Fond du Lac RCMP say there is nothing more they can do in an investigation of a dog attack that left a young woman with extensive damage to her face.

An RCMP investigation revealed that in the early morning hours of October 11th, a young woman from the community was bitten by a large dog at a local residence.

Officers say the dog in question was chained up and in a fenced yard at the time of the attack, adding that the investigation did not reveal criminal negligence on the part of the dog owner.

The woman received extensive lacerations to her face, which required medical attention.

RCMP say the young female was under the influence of alcohol at the time, which may have contributed to the attack.
