Fuel Spill Closes Northern Highway

An overturned fuel truck is wreaking havoc with the only highway connecting parts of the north to the rest of the province.
The vehicle overturned on Highway 102 between Sucker River and the Stanley Mission access overnight, causing a fuel spill.
That has prompted the closure of that stretch of highway to all traffic.
The RCMP say anyone wishing to travel from La Ronge to Sucker River should still be able to do so — but all communities and mine sites north of that are cut off from the rest of the province until midnight at the earliest.
Clean-up crews from Saskatoon have been on the scene since mid-morning.
