Ground Search Called For Missing Native Woman

After almost a year of searching for a missing First Nations woman, Saskatoon police believe it’s time to conduct a ground search.

26-year-old Daleen Bosse, originally from the Onion Lake First Nation, was last seen in the city last May.

Her vehicle turned up a couple of weeks later in the Sutherland area of the city.

Police kept on receiving tips that she was seen alive in other parts of the country, but none of those sightings were confirmed.

Now that those leads have dried up, Saskatoon Police Sergeant Don Yonkman says it’s time to scour the area where her vehicle was found.

Yonkman says searchers from La Ronge and Bosse’s home reserve will be assisting local agencies in a grid search this Saturday and Sunday.

The area in question is made up mostly of fields and vacant lots and runs adjacent to the South Saskatchewan River.

A boat will be employed in this weekend’s search.

An aerial search will take place tomorrow.
