A man accused of killing an elder on the Mistawasis First Nation won’t be back in court until the New Year.

A judge has ordered a preliminary hearing for 37-year-old Vince Dreaver to be held in February.

Dreaver is accused of killing 81-year-old Antoine Sand in August.

The incident is alleged to have taken place outside a home on the reserve.

The RCMP indicated at the time that the victim died from multiple stab wounds.

Dreaver faces one count of second-degree murder.
