House Fire Claims Life on Wahpeton First Nation

RCMP are continuing to investigate a fatal house fire that happened over the weekend on the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation.

Spokeswoman Heather Russell says one person died early Sunday morning after flames engulfed a mobile home on the reserve.

She says emergency crews from the Buckland Fire Department responded to the fire but were unable to save the person inside.

She adds fire-investigators are hoping to get a better handle on what happened later today when they sift through the wreakage.
