La Loche Man Jailed For Fatal Beating

A La Loche man will serve nearly four years in prison for beating another man to death.

23-year-old Ronald Glen Herman was sentenced yesterday morning in La Loche, after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of Blair Lemaigre two years ago.

Lemaigre was taken to the local clinic after being found injured in a local parking lot shortly after 4 a.m. on May 20, 2007.

He eventually succumbed to his injuries.

A judge ordered Herman to spend an additional three years and nine months in jail, on top of the time he has already served — much of it in lock-up, according to a court official.
