A fictional thriller set in the La Ronge area will be launched at an Aboriginal book festival in Saskatoon tonight.
It was penned by La Ronge lawyer Harold Johnson, who started giving writing a try a few years ago with the release of his novel “Billy Tinker”.
His new work is entitled “Backtrack”, and Johnson says it explores the legend of the Wendigo through the experiences of a modern-day trapper.
The McNally-Robinson store on Eighth Street is hosting the Anskohk Aboriginal Book Festival this evening.
The launch of Johnson’s new book begins at 7 o’clock.
