La Ronge Courthouse Escapee Charged Again

A 21-year-old man who escaped from custody at the La Ronge courthouse last week is back in custody.

Jordan Daigneault escaped after appearing on a shoplifting charge and five outstanding warrants from Prince Albert.

Police picked him up without incident at his home in La Ronge this morning, and he was in court again this afternoon to face the charges, including an additional charge of escaping lawful custody.

Daigneault has also been been charged with the theft of the handcuffs and leg irons he was wearing at the time of his escape.

He has since been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Dec. 14.
