Several students in northern Saskatchewan will receive honours this week from the province’s Lieutenant-Governor.

Dr. Gordon Barnhardt made his first stop this morning in Creighton.

He is handing out Awards of Excellence and Northern Saskatchewan Student Achievement Awards all week.

During his stop in Pelican Narrows this afternoon, he is presenting 13-year-old Sarah Linklater an award for winning a provincial essay-writing contest.

Barnhardt will visit Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Canoe Lake, Pinehouse and Ile-a-la-Crosse later this week.
