A meeting in Saskatoon tomorrow is set to deal with the subject of Métis offenders and their re-integration into society.

Métis Family and Community Justice Services Lynn LaRose will help host the session, which begins at 1:00 at the St. Mary’s gym.

She says a number of things have to happen for Métis men and women just getting out of jail for their transition to be a success.

She notes recommendations in the commission on First Nations and Métis Justice Reform deal with some of that.

She adds Métis-specific programs are lacking in correctional institutions and that’s why programming is so vital for offenders who have just been released.
