Metis Youth Addictions Focus Of Study

The Metis Addictions Centre in Prince Albert and the First Nations University of Canada are set to wrap up a research project on addictions among Metis youth.
Sena Richmond is a youth education worker who helped spearhead the work.
She says the project attempts to pin-point the reasons why Metis youth turn to drugs, specifically in the city of Prince Albert.
Richmond notes most of the research out there is simply geared towards all Aboriginal people, and lacks details on Metis.
She says that is why they geared this particular project solely towards Metis youth.
Visits to the Internet and the homes of Metis elders will come to a head at the end of the month.
