A new Class 1A truck driving training school kicked off its inception yesterday with an open house in La Ronge.

Northern Resource Trucking spokesman Lloyd Driedger says the open house was hosted so the northern residents could see the training services provided by the school and potential the trucking industry has to offer.

Driedger says the demand for drivers, not only in Saskatchewan but across the nation, is on the rise, which is why northerners need the opportunity to benefit from a quality learning experience in an area that is familiar to them.

Driedger says the Class 1A hands-on training program is an expansion of what has already been happening with courses offered through the Northlands College in La Ronge. He says a new round of classes will begin on September 11th and interested students should contact Northlands College for more information.
