Some of Saskatchewan’s remote wilderness could become home to extreme camping.
The provincial government plans to meet with different groups in the province, including First Nations and Metis, to determine where would be the best spot for such a provincial park.
Tourism, Parks, Culture, and Sports Minister Christine Tell says it’s important to work with First Nations and Metis people because they will have the best idea of where extreme camping should be — plus it might be near their land.
Tell says consultation meetings could take place as early as this spring.
She says the government hopes to have an extreme camping park established within four years.
