The lobby group for Saskatchewan’s 35 northern municipalities held a strategy meeting over the weekend in Prince Albert.

New North chairman Dale McAuley says the executive used the time to reflect on their group’s mandate and purpose.

He says members of the executive talked at length about new mechanisms that could be used to help fulfill the role and vision of the organization.

McAuley says this weekend’s meeting was also attended by a political scientist from the University of Saskatchewan.

He says there are advantages to hearing recommendations by a party outside the immediate group.
