No Regrets for Chief that Backed SaskParty

The chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band says he’s not disappointed the NDP won yesterday’s election.

Chief Harry Cook made headlines during the election campaign when he voiced his support for Elwin Hermanson and the Saskatchewan Party.

Cook hopes his statements made it clear to the NDP that the party can’t take First Nations’ support for granted.

Cook also says he doesn’t think his comments will strain relations between his band and the provincial government.
