A meteorologist with Environment Canada says northern Saskatchewan received near record-breaking amounts of snowfall last month.
Bob Cormier says three times the normal amount of snow fell over most of northern Saskatchewan in November.
He says La Ronge was just 1.5 cm shy of breaking an 83-year-old record. La Ronge received 75.1 cm of snow in a month that usually sees 28.7 cm fall.
Cormier says Southend saw 61.2 cm of snow in November, while Cumberland House received 68.9 centimetres.
Having said that, Cormier says northerners can expect below-normal levels of snow for the coming months.
