The provincial government has approved an increase in ambulance fees for the Keewatin Yatthe Regional Health Authority.
Currently residents pay $200.00 per visit from ambulance crews, plus a charge of $2.00 per kilometre.
However, the health region plans to raise that charge in August.
With the exception of seniors, citizens will soon pay $220.00 a visit and $2.20 a kilometre.
Keewatin Yatthe says the hike is intended to cover rising costs in maintenance and fuel.
