The Provincial Government has announced it’s setting aside $4.5 million for training in Northern Saskatchewan.
Some of the fields to receive money include, truck driver training, heavy equipment operations, diamond drilling and underground mining.
Peter Mayotte is a Director with Northlands College. He says the money will give them the capacity to help answer some of the demand for skilled labor in the North.
The money is part of a much larger $52 million commitment announced earlier by the province.
The government says the money will open up 650 spaces for northern students.
