Northern Youth Butting Out

The number of kids lighting up in the North appears to be on the decline, according to a health planner with the Prince Albert Grand Council.
Carol Romanow says she believes strong anti-tabacco campaigns may be the reason behind the decrease.
She claims northern youth are responding to warnings about how their health could be affected by smoking cigarettes.
Romanow says teenagers also are beginning to resist peer pressure to smoke.
For the past week, bands within several northern tribal councils have been observing National Non-Smoking Week.
