Northerners Injured in Fatal Crash Near Canwood

A number of northern residents have been hospitalized following a fatal collision near Canwood last night.

The crash killed a 78-year-old man from Parkside, who was driving a small pickup truck.

The RCMP says at around 8:15 last night, the southbound truck was involved in a collision with a northbound SUV on Highway 55, about three kilometres north of Canwood.

The SUV was carrying five female residents of Beauval and Green Lake.

They range in age from 15 to 49 years of age and were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

A collision analyst is helping with the investigation.
