Several scholarships have been awarded to northern resident in recognition of their hard work and dedication to their studies.

The board and staff of Northlands College, along with Cameco and Kitsaki Management, have awarded Andrea Aubichon of Ile-a-la-Crosse, and Myra Daigneault, Eleanor Genaille, and Michelle Ratt of La Ronge with the Centennial Merit Scholarships — which are worth over $3,000 each.

Northlands College also awarded Jason Slinn of La Ronge with the Board of Govenors scholarship, which is given to one student annually based on their scholastic achievement, personal experience and community involvement.

Slinn, who is currently enrolled in the Continuing Education University Program, also received the Northlands College Scholarship — along with fellow La Ronge resident Wade Stephansson, who is currently taking the Instrumentation Technician Program.

The Northlands College Scholarship is awarded based on the students’ academic achievements, personal accomplishments and need.
