Some members of the Saskatoon Police Service were honoured today for their work on raising awareness about Aboriginal people and diabetes.
For the past few years, a group of officers has cycled across Canada to promote healthy living and its connection to living with diabetes in the Aboriginal community.
Today, those individuals received an “Extraordinary in the Ordinary” award, presented by Saskatoon’s Cultural Diversity and Race Relations committee.
The awards are given to people who promote inter-cultural harmony.
The Saskatoon Police Advisory Committee on Diversity also received an award for its work on strengthening relationships with various groups in the city, such as First Nations and Metis.
