Onion Lake Not Willing to Give Up Lab

The Onion Lake First Nation is not giving up its fight to retain funding for its x-ray and laboratory facilities.
At the FSIN special legislative assembly in Saskatoon yesterday, acting chief Oliver Fox requested the assistance of the FSIN in prodding the federal and provincial governments to look at restoring some of the health dollars that were recently cut.
Fox says one out of every six band members over the age of 25 has diabetes, and early diagnosis can’t happen without the use of the lab.
Fox says the province has indicated it will give back some of the funding, but not all.
