A Prince Albert woman hopes a cross-Canada trek will give her answers.

Simone McLeod plans to walk from British Columbia to Newfoundland and talk to as many First Nations people as possible about the effects Residential Schools have had on the second and third generations.

McLeod grew up with sexual abuse, incest, and neglect from the hands of people who had attended residential schools. She says not all survivors are perpetrators.

McLeod says the walk is in part a memorial to her brother who lived through what she did and was murdered two years ago.

McLeod plans to write a book with everyone’s suggestions once the walk is finished.
