Parents To Play Prominent Role At FASD Conference

Parents with children diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder are expected to get some helpful pointers in La Ronge over the next couple of days.
The community’s annual FASD conference will cover practical strategies for creating and measuring success for an individual with FASD.
There will also be a video presentation that provides an overview of the people and programs that made a difference in the lives of adults who were prenatally exposed to alchohol.
A member of the La Ronge and Area FASD Prevention Team, Alison Ballentyne, is encouraged by how openly people talk about the disorder nowadays.
Some of the presentations at the conference will be delivered by parents of FASD children — something Ballentyne says was unheard of as recently as 10 years ago.
