A preliminary hearing begins today in Pelican Narrows for a 27-year-old woman accused of killing her common-law partner.

32-year-old Cameron Ballantyne died of stab wounds he received at a home on the reserve during the early morning hours of April 20th.

Emergency crews responded to the incident, but were unable to save Ballantyne.

Geraldine Bloomfield is facing a second degree murder in the matter.

The case is expected to make its way back to Prince Albert at a later date.
