A man from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Little Red River Reserve will have to wait a little bit longer before he is sentenced. It was earlier this year that 27 year-old Jackie Dale Mckenzie pled guilty to two charges of aggravated assault after an incident in the summer of 2003 sent two Sturgeon Lake men to hospital. Both men were stabbed but have since recovered from their injuries. Mckenzie meanwhile faces new counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was charged with those offenses roughly 6 weeks ago. He must wait now for a pre-sentence report to be completed before he learns his fate in regards to the stabbings of the two Sturgeon Lake residents.
