Pinehouse Man Charged With First-Degree Murder

The Mounties believe a 22-year-old Pinehouse man accused of killing another man in the northern community early Saturday morning planned it out beforehand.
Tyrell Lariviere is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection to the fatal stabbing of an unidentified 19-year-old man.
RCMP spokesman Sgt. Bill Betker says the belief that this was a pre-meditated act likely played a large role in determining the charge.
However, he admits the Mounties have yet to discuss the charge with prosecutors — and it could potentially be reduced to second-degree murder.
Lariviere made his first court appearance yesterday in La Ronge, and will be back in court on November 17th.
The victim’s name has not been released at the request of his family.
