The C.E.O. for Wanuskewin Heritage Park says she’s grateful the provincial government has stepped in with some financial relief for the beleaguered facility.
For the past year, construction at the park has been on hold due to a lack of funds.
C.E.O Pat Lorje says that’s all changed now with the news the province is giving Wanuskewin $2.8 million.
Lorje explains the money will be used to restart renovations on the park centre.
However, Lorje notes the doors will close to the public while the work is being done.
She hopes to re-open early next year.
Lorje has also applied to the federal government for additional money.
