The sudden death of a 28-year-old man on the Saulteaux First Nation has sparked a police investigation.

The RCMP say a body was found on the reserve at around 7:30 yesterday morning.

Sergeant Rob Ruiters says the Mounties believe the man may have died at a house party the previous night or earlier that morning.

However, Ruiters notes that further investigation is still required.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

The victim was a resident of the Saulteaux reserve, but his name is not being released at this time.

The RCMP’s Major Crimes unit in Saskatoon is assisting with the investigation.
