The RCMP have laid a first-degree murder charge in connection to the case of an Onion Lake woman found dead in a Lloydminster motel room last month.
The Mounties say a 41-year-old northern Alberta man has been arrested in the death of 20-year-old Jarita Naistus.
Gordon Dwight Hurley of Beaverlodge, Alberta made his first court appearance in Lloydminster today.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on December 19th.
The Mounties say Hurley was arrested in Grande Prairie last Wednesday.
His arrest comes on the heels of several appeals by the RCMP for public assistance in the case.
Naistus’ body was discovered by motel staff on the morning of October 2nd.
