The Mounties are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a 21-year-old man who escaped custody at the La Ronge courthouse yesterday.
The RCMP say Jordan Daigneault bolted from the courthouse at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, after having a discussion with his lawyer.
Sgt. Carole Raymond says it appears Daigneault was unsupervised when he escaped.
Raymond says the on-duty RCMP officer wasn’t advised when the lawyer-client meeting was over, resulting in Daigneault managing to leave the courthouse.
Daigneault is facing five outstanding warrants as well as a theft charge, but is not considered dangerous.
He is also said to frequent both the La Ronge and Prince Albert areas.
