Sahpassum Death To Be Probed During Inquest

An inquest has been ordered into the death of an Aboriginal woman who was injured while in police custody.

 

On August 3rd of last year, 48-year-old Linda Sahpassum died in a Saskatoon hospital after suffering head injuries.

 

Officials with the Prince Albert Police Service say the woman was arrested for intoxication on August 2nd, and hit her head while exiting a police vehicle.

 

The four-day inquest will begin November 7th at Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert.
