Santa Getting Ready For Seventh Visit To Far North

Children in the Far North will be seeing Santa Claus a little earlier this year.

Transwest Air’s “Santa Claus Takes Flight” event is scheduled to make stops in Wollaston Lake, Black Lake, Stony Rapids and Fond du Lac on December 10th, a week earlier than usual.

This year’s title sponsor is the Northern Lights Community Development Corporation.

Manager Eddie Head says his group wanted to get involved after seeing the impact it had on kids in the Athabasca region.

The event is in its seventh year.

Organizers say gifts will be sent to children in Uranium City, as well.
